Before I started Scaling Contractors, I was doing painting, drywall, various handyman jobs out in Southern California. I spent years on the grind: one week I was making great money on a big project, and the next week I had nothing scheduled. To be honest, there were times I felt like a fraud. I was running a "business". I wanted to hire guys full-time, but I couldn't do it because I couldn't guarantee them work. I wasn’t growing. I was passing out business cards and cold calling trash leads from the cheap marketing guys I hired, wasting hours driving out to give bids only to find out I was the third guy in line that day, or dealing with people who were just "looking for a price" and had no intention of hiring me.

Then I got together with my long time friend Joseph. We were both looking for a change, and we clicked instantly - same mindset, same obsession with growth, and we both have a passion for cars and business. We started playing around with online marketing for my own jobs. It worked. It didn’t just get "clicks and impressions”, it actually got me real jobs that turned into actual money in the bank.
